Adult Discipleship
Adult Groups help us grow closer to God and each other through fellowship, support, and community—reflecting the early church’s gathering in homes and worship spaces.

Woman's Group
Women’s Group at Christ UMC is a Christian-based service and social group open to any woman. The Women’s Group meets at 6pm on the first Wednesday of the month and works to develop philanthropic projects for the community and globally.

Children & Youth Discipleship
Christ UMC is here to support parents and guardians in raising children to know and follow Jesus. Join us for Discipleship Hour every Sunday from 8:45–9:45 AM—a time for kids and youth to ask questions, grow in faith, and discover God’s love. Classes available for Nursery through 12th grade.

Youth Ministry
Our Youth Ministry helps students (7th–12th grade) grow in their faith and discover who God created them to be—living with love, justice, mercy, and humility.
The Youth Group meets Sundays at 6 PM for connection, faith, and fun—building friendships and growing together in Christ.
Community Outreach

Each month, we collect food and Birthday Bags for the Olean Food Pantry. At Thanksgiving, we help provide 100 meals, and many of our members volunteer regularly—stocking shelves, greeting guests, and assisting with grocery shopping.

Christ UMC works in collaboration with the Warming House to provide birthday bags and other monthly donations for their guests.

Christ UMC works in collaboration with Interfaith Caregivers by providing annual monetary donations to support their mission in our community.

Rebuilding Together
Each year, we support and volunteer for a local project that repairs and paints homes for elderly or disabled families—usually the last Saturday in July. Volunteers always welcome!

Backpack Giveaway
Christ United provides 100 backpacks filled with supplies for local students, partnering with Head Start and area schools. Families are invited to a breakfast party during pickup—a special way to start the school year.

GED Classes run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9am till 12pm.

Missions

Christ United Missions
Each year, Christ United offers a mission trip—either within the U.S. or to Harmons, Jamaica. Most trips last a week and focus on serving communities in need, like disaster recovery or home repairs. Past trips include North Carolina and New Orleans.

Volunteers in Mission
Our Volunteers in Mission (VIM) teams serve those affected by natural disasters, helping rebuild homes and lives. Partnering with UMCOR, we answer calls for help after hurricanes, floods, and more. Christ UMC sends teams on week-long domestic trips every other year—recently serving in Baton Rouge, Lumberton, and Mechanicsburg.

UNY Mission Central HUB
The Upper New York Mission Central HUB helps churches like ours get involved in outreach and disaster response—through training, assembling flood buckets, health kits, and more to support those in need.
